Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar al-Bukhary the richest Malay man in
Malaysia. His dad was a trader who had ventured out to Central Asia and
Thailand in his childhood before settling down in Kedah amid the 1940s.
(Ashadi, 2007). When Syed Mokhtar was nine years of age, he was sent to Johor
Bahru to live with his uncle Syed Omar where he contemplated until Form 2. He
hence came back to Kedah to complete his education until standard five at Saint
Michael's School, and he never went to college.
Due to his poor family, Syed Mokhtar had initiative to start
some business. He assumed control over the business and begin once again by
offering meats. He then proceed onward to bundling the meats and begin offering
them wholesale. He also helped his mom planting and offering vegetables in the
business furthermore offering roti canai. He helped his dad in breeding cow
business yet just to see the business washed away by foot and mouth infection.

The other initiative that Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar used is when
he moved to venture into broadening of different organizations. His next huge
move was in the logistics business, with beginning objective to transport their
exchanging materials. He worked much harder after honored the rice exchanging
permit from Lembaga Padi Negara, and was later granted progressions of supplier
contract government-linked companies. (Razak, 2012)
